​The Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT), established in 1983 in Pune, Maharashtra, is a premier engineering institution renowned for its focus on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) education and research. Founded under the aegis of the Society for Computer Technology and Research (SCTR) by visionaries Shri Gopal Krishna, Shri N. Ramakrishna, and Shri R. S. 📜 Historical Milestones
1983: PICT was established and began offering a B.E. program in Computer Engineering with an initial intake of 60 students.

1984-85: The intake for Computer Engineering was increased to 120 students.
1995: Launched the Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (E&TE) program.
2001-02: Introduced the Information Technology (IT) program to meet the growing demand in the IT sector.

2000 onwards: Expanded into postgraduate education with M.E. programs in Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electronics & Communication (Wireless Communication Technology), and Information Technology.

2014-15: Recognized as a research center by Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) for Ph.D. programs in Computer Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.
